Well hello. So, you’ve found my blog site. If you find yourself immediately wondering what the focus of the site is, well, you’re not alone. I’ve embarked on this self-imposed task with a bit of apprehension and wonder. While we all have a take about a number of topics, I’m going into this endeavor with the thought that I will be open to the direction to which it may go. I won’t sit here and say that I won’t have the final decision either.

A small insight about myself……

I’m not a famous person, a formally educated person, the smartest person, the walk-the-straightest path person, the most spiritual person…yeah, the list could go on. To be simple and to the point, I’m fallible. There’s really no other way to put it. My mistakes far outnumber my achievements. Therefore, I’m not here to reinvent the wheel. This is my humble attempt to carve out my niche in the world in which both you and I live. I’m looking to provide an open forum where all voices on any number of topics can come to be heard. On the flip side, I will say that I have my views. And I 100% believe in them. I do feel I look for valid facts to back up what I believe in. Yet let me tell you up front, I AM NOT PERFECT AND I WILL BE WRONG. I assure you. I won’t ever try to convince you otherwise. And I want to be called out on that. I am not so naïve to think that I can create this website and automatically be omnipotent. I wish it worked that way. I would have done this a long time ago if that was the case. Like Earl Hickey so eloquently stated, “I’m just trying to be a better person.”

While I use to consider myself a left leaning moderate, I have found in the past 8 months to a year that I have a more conservative view of things. I am not a right wing minion. I do not agree with every single thing they put out there. I do not believe in a straight ticket vote. Know issues, stances, what’s being said and, most importantly, WHAT HAS ACTUALLY BEEN DONE then vote accordingly. Not because someone that has absolutely no idea how your day to day life is says that’s the way you should. Actions speak volumes, remember that.

Okay. Enough politics……for now.

When it comes to personal life, I know for a fact I can’t give you the right advice on what to do. But, I can give a laundry list what exactly NOT to do. As mentioned before, I am mortal. And all that that entails. So, if the topic that day centers on how we live our lives or treat the ones around us, I can’t be the one to look to for directions to the Yellow Brick Road. Not that that is the purpose of what I’m doing. I guess what I’m trying to say is, that while the perception (I like this word, remind me one day and I will tell you all about it…lol. Promise) may be that I am, I can honestly say that I am not and WON’T be trying to sell you my brand of Elixir.

I’m a huge movie and music fan. I love a variety of different genres of both. With movies, anything fact based has my attention. While not a beacon of attraction, I simply love stupid comedy. I have my all-time favorites and I have my by-the-decade favorites. When it comes to music, I love the ‘80’s and ‘70’s. I really can’t explain it. As someone I know once let me in on, “…it is what it is.” I like a lot but those are my favorites. Truth be told, if you got a hold of my iPod, you’d think you stole Neil Diamond’s throwdown one.
To include as many I as can…..When it comes to sports, I have my jaded, cynical opinion on this as well. I will not go into this. As I know this will fill a whole day of responses when we get to this topic. So just know, it’ll be on the list of things we are open to discuss.

So…..with that little being said, I’ll close my first blog with this: BE WHO YOU ARE. Because, in the end, that’s all we have to count on. Ourselves. This isn’t a place for narrow minded, yell the loudest, or do what it takes to get your point across people. If you agree, agree and tell why. If you disagree, that’s completely awesome as well. Just be respectful and back up what you say with fact. You can be the meekest, most docile figure in the room. Yet with fact, your voice will fill the room.
